5 Reasons Why Trading Cousins Makes Perfect Sense for the Kings

Not a bad weekend for the city of the New Orleans. They hosted a successful All-Star weekend, their star Anthony Davis won All-Star Game MVP (Westbrook was going to win it until Steve Kerr benched him the rest of the 4th quarter… another topic for another day)… AND they landed BOOGIE! (oh, and Omri Casspi lol)

In return for Cousins (and Casspi), the Kings received: Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans (who will probably will ask for a buyout), Langston Galloway, Pelicans 2017 1st round pick (top 3 protected), Sixers 2017 2nd round pick.

The Kings also waived Matt Barnes to clear a roster spot in order for the trade to go through.

Look, I’m not saying that the Kings won the trade, because they certainly did not. Whenever you trade your franchise player away, it’s virtually¬†impossible to win a deal.

But… I’m gonna to play devil’s advocate here and give 5 reasons why this trade makes perfect sense for the Kings.
