In the basketball world, there’s the USA and then the rest of the world trying to catch up. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t once in a generation players that come from other countries. It all began in the late 1980’s when guys like Detlef Schrempf, Arvydas Sabonis, Sarunas Marciulionis and Vlade Divac created a path for international players. Sure, there were rare cases like Hakeem Olajuwon, but it was really after the 1992 Olympics that we saw huge waves of international talent making their way to the states. Here’s our list of top 10 international players in NBA history.
NOTE: We will not include guys like Kyrie Irving, Dominique Wilkins and Patrick Ewing, who played for Team USA despite being born outside of the U.S. (but we have to make an exception for one player haha *SPOILER*)
