NBA fans often refer Kwame Brown as the poster child for “draft busts”. The burden of being a number one draft pick is difficult, especially for a kid coming out of high school. It is safe to say that Kwame didn’t quite live up to expectation as a number 1 pick, but he actually didn’t have THAT BAD of a career. There have certainly been worse career numbers from other number 1 picks. On top of that, the 2001 draft was not very deep for bigs and only a few superior frontcourt players: Tyson Chandler, Pau Gasol and Zach Randolph.
