Shaq was better because…
He was way more dominant
From the moment Shaq came into the league as a rookie until the day he retired 19 years later, I’ve never seen any player in the history of the game, be as dominant as Shaq. He played with his opponents and dominated on both ends on the floor.
After a couple of seasons, Shaq had matured his game and evolved into one of the most, if not the most dominant player of all-time. Even if the following might sound cruel to Kobe fans, to me it was Shaquille O’Neal who anchored the Lakers dynasty of the 2000s. During his Lakers days, you couldn’t find one player, being able to guard Shaq. His moves were so dominant (DROPSTEP!!!), that referees started calling it offensive fouls quite often, even though there wasn’t one. He was so dominant, that coaches had to invent new strategies to stop him somehow – I guess y’all have heard of the Hack-a-Shaq strategy by now. This is even more proof of how unguardable he was.
